Gold Top Collective designs, builds and runs websites, online shops and bespoke software for businesses across the UK. We are a small team, we use AI to do the heavy lifting, and a human checks everything before it ships.
We are a digital agency. We build websites, online shops and bespoke software, and then we look after them. Most of our work is for small and mid-sized businesses in the UK: manufacturers, laboratories, housebuilders, care providers and health services.
There are six services under one roof: web design and build, e-commerce, bespoke platforms and tools, branding and design, AI development and automation, and hosting, care and SEO. You can read what each one involves on the services page.
We are not a marketing agency, a recruitment agency or a reseller. We do the design and the engineering ourselves, in house.
AI does a lot of the heavy lifting on our projects. That is how a small team gets through the volume of work you would normally need a much larger one for, and it is why your budget goes further with us. But nothing ships without a human reading it first. We treat AI as a very fast junior, not as a replacement for judgement.
We work on fixed monthly plans rather than hourly billing, so you know what you are paying before the work starts. You own everything we build for you: the code, the content, the hosting accounts and the domains. If you ever want to leave, you take it all with you.
We tend to stay. Several of the relationships you can read about in our case studies have run for years, and they usually started as one small job.
Gold Top Collective was founded by Dan Akers and James Foster. Dan also runs Startling, which handles scoping, specification and safe AI adoption. James also runs Crushing, which does graphic and digital design. Between the three there is a single group of people who have worked together for a long time, and we pull in specialists we know and trust when a project needs them.
We are based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and we work with clients across the United Kingdom. Nearly all of it is done remotely, so where you are is rarely the issue. If you would rather meet, we can.
